Fans Can Bowl
with Supercross & Motocross Stars in the
WMXF Third Annual MotoBowl presented by Monster Energy
ANAHEIM, Calif.,
(Aug. 24, 2006) – The Women’s Motocross & Supercross
Foundation (WMXF) announced today that the Third Annual
MotoBowl presented by Monster Energy will once again allow
SX and MX fans to bowl with their favorite riders while
raising money for a good cause on the Thursday prior to
the final round of AMA Toyota Motocross at Glen Helen Raceway
in San Bernardino, Calif.
Participating SX/MX celebrities include seven-time AMA SX
Champion Jeremy McGrath, Yamaha’s Chad Reed, Sobe Samsung
Honda’s Kevin Windham, Makita Suzuki’s Ivan Tedesco,
seven-time combined SX/MX Champion Rick Johnson, Racer
X Illustrated Editor-in-Chief Davey Coombs, SX announcer
Erin Bates and many more.
Thirty-eight teams of six bowlers each will be determined
by EBay bidding. The seven-day auctions opened on Aug.
21. Scheduled for Sept. 7, MotoBowl will be held at
Concourse Bowl in Anaheim, Calif. Doors open at 4:30
p.m. and general admission spectator tickets cost $25 in
advance and $30 at the door. Ticket price includes
admission to the event, dinner, arcade games and a front
seat to this limited-access party. There will be rider
interviews, a DJ and one of a kind silent auction items.
“MotoBowl is our primary fundraising event,” said
the WMXF’s Antoinette Gress. “MotoBowl
leads into the Glen Helen National and we can’t think
of a better way to celebrate the last AMA Motocross race
of the season. The money that is raised is distributed
to numerous riders, industry workers and as always the Asterisk
Mobile Medical Unit. With so many talented riders and
industry celebrities participating, we know we’ll surpass
last year’s amount.”
The WMXF is a non-profit organization (501 c3) founded in
2003 to enhance the motocross & supercross racing community. WMXF's
mission is to support racers or crew members who suffer racing
injury; provide support to those who suffer serious misfortune;
provide financial support to benevolent organizations; and
contribute to the well-being of families in the professional
motocross/supercross community.
